⭐ Brief Tasting Notes:
Nose: Dark Toffee. Rum Raisin. Bread Pudding. Stewed Peaches. Pot Still Funk. Raw Vanilla Bean. Dark Caramel. Sweet Leather. Browned Butter.
Palate: Root Beer. Wheated Bourbon Toffee Notes. Rum Raisin. Molasses. Sticky Toffee Pudding. Cherry Cola. Vanilla Extract. Browned Butter. Honey Drizzle.
Mouthfeel: Nice and Palate Coating with an Oily texture.
Finish: There's a lingering Leather and Aged Oak profile that sits on your Palate. It drinks nice and easy from start to finish without much Ethanol burn. There's a brightness on the finish which is a pleasant contrast to the some of the darker tasting notes on the Palate.
💭 Overall Thoughts:
Preservation's very own Wheated Bourbon Distillate (not sourced) is very complex and interesting that drives you to take another Sip to see what other Flavor Notes you'll get. Alternatively, you can just Sip on and not to think too much because of the approachable sweeter notes too with a little Pot Still Funk. The Pot Still distillation definitely introduces more Earthy and Funky notes that aren't as apparent in the usual Legacy Distilleries using Column Stills or a blend of both. Give Preservation's own Distillate a try! It was a huge hit at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival 2025 at their booth from folks I know that went and tasted it!
